Group motivated by animal cruelty in Tunica County

This is the Tunica County Dog Pound....6 cages where dogs were held for 5 days before they were disposed of.....no pet of the week....no vet...no love...no care...just a death sentence. All of this changed Aug 01 2008...enter the
TUNICA HUMANE SOCIETY......formed by a group of women determined to change the Tunica Dog Pound from an ALL-KILL facility to a NO-KILL facility.

Thanks to some of our County leaders, we now have 12 new pens in progress....soon to be finished! Several good citizens in Tunica have donated 12 new doghouses for the new pens. We are getting there!

It's a done deal!! Most of our dogs have been moved to their new home. We love it and the dogs love it!!! We are even going to have a fenced in area where we can let the dogs out to run and romp. Thank you Tunica County!!!!

Over 20 "Harrah's Heroes" offered their services to provide a wonderful new environment for Tunica's abandoned and mistreated animals while awaiting their new "forever homes". We now have 11 new covered pens, and a large fenced area where the dogs can run and play. This was made possible by donations of materials and manpower from this wonderful group of folks.
