The Tunica Humane Society desires
to improve the quality of life for all animals in Tunica County by aggressively pursuing a high quality, low cost spay-neuter
program. We are dedicated to saving the lives of all animals who are endangered, neglected, abandoned or abused.
It is our hearts desire to see Tunica become a "NO KILL" model community in a world where over 5 million dogs and
cats are destroyed every year simply because they are considered "disposable".

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in
their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said,
"this is terrible! Why don't you do something? God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.... "I created you"
Most of our dogs have the same story....they
have been thrown away by an indifferent society. They have been picked up on county roads where they were left to fend
for themselves, they have been dropped off in someone's drive-way, they have been found scrounging for food in fields, or
they have been turned over to us because the owners just didn't want them or couldn't afford them. We take them in, love them
and feed them. We give them any medical attention needed...shots, spay or neuter....and we try very hard
to find them forever homes with a loving family.

The Tunica Humane Society is honored to be the recipient of a $3000
Grant from the ASPCA to aid us with our Spay/Neuter Program at our shelter. It is the practice of the Tunica Humane
Society to "fix" every animal that comes into our rescue. These funds will help save countless animals from
being born into a world that is already overcrowded with unwanted animals. The Tunica Humane Society is working
hard to do our part to make this a kinder, gentler world for our companion pets and we are extremely grateful to the ASPCA
for their support of our efforts.
